Arangetram
Arangetram represents a student’s debut solo performance or graduation ceremony. The student is trained by the Guru to present a full concert performance. The Tamil word “aranga” means raised stage and “etram” means climbing. It is ascending the stage by a musician on the completion of formal training and beginning a lifelong journey of creative expression and artistic excellence. The mridangam student demonstrates his/her understanding of Indian classical music and its rich theory, history, and centuries-old tradition.

Tarun started his Mridangam journey at the age of 10. His natural sense of rhythm and kinship with the instrument enabled him to give performances even as he was learning.
